elcome to the site of The Phoenix Company, a medieval combat group within the Society for Creative Anachronism [SCA]. We are specifically located in the Western Kingdom and dedicate ourselves to the command of our Crown. Here you will find some information on what it is that we [and the SCA] do, why we do it, and some pictures of our adventures, as well as some information about each of us. Also, you will find links to related pages to help further the histories of the middle ages....

he Phoenix Company had it's inception on July 4th, 1996 at the West~An Tir war in Yreka, California. A campfire was created after dusk, and each person intending to become a member cast something within the flames that represented thier past, then they read a brief statement that was written upon scraps of paper and cast these, too, into the flames. These words derived from the Phoenix Company Charter, which was read at the end of this ceremony. A captain for The Company was elected and the new Phoenix War Banner was unfurled.
